Floor Preparation
Before a new floor covering, coating, screed or resin finish goes down, the surface underneath has to be right — clean, sound, and profiled to the correct standard. Our floor preparation service gets concrete and screeded floors ready for whatever’s going on top, using the same precision and modern equipment as the rest of our diamond cutting work.
How it works
We use diamond grinding and shot blasting to remove laitance, old coatings, adhesives, paint and surface contaminants, and to create the correct surface profile for the new finish to bond to. Diamond grinding gives a smooth, dust-controlled finish that’s ideal for polished concrete or thin coatings. Captive, dust-free shot blasting abrades the surface mechanically without water, making it well suited to industrial units, warehouses and food-grade environments where moisture and mess aren’t an option. For heavier removal — old screeds, thick coatings or uneven surfaces — we use scarifying and scabbling to take the surface back before finer grinding takes place.
